Job Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Commissioning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Substation Commissioning Engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our transmission and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement automated tests to validate the correct operation of new equipment installations.
  • Conduct hands-on testing in substations to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, and reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in electrical systems commissioning or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including transmission and distribution systems, and commissioning procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
