Position Overview:
We are currently in search of a skilled and committed Permanent Field Surveyor to enhance our vibrant workforce.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their knowledge in the construction sector and significantly impact our ongoing initiatives.
The selected candidate will be tasked with executing a variety of surveys, such as residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
This position necessitates a solid grasp of fundamental computations and cutsheets.The ideal applicant will possess over 5 years of field experience and demonstrate proficiency in contemporary surveying methodologies and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute comprehensive field surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
- Develop and sustain sketches, maps, and reports detailing legal descriptions of surveys to define, certify, and assume accountability for completed work.
- Ensure the precision of survey data, encompassing measurements and calculations performed at survey locations.
- Engage in research regarding surveying and mapping techniques, utilizing knowledge of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
- Align findings with the efforts of engineering and architectural teams, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
- Calibrate surveying instruments to uphold their accuracy.
- Establish fixed reference points for mapping purposes, employing geodetic and engineering tools.
- Determine the longitudes and latitudes of significant features and boundaries within survey areas, utilizing theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
- Instruct assistants and helpers, directing their activities in tasks such as conducting surveys or drafting maps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a field surveyor, ideally within the construction sector.
- Thorough knowledge of residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
- Expertise in fundamental computations and cutsheets.
- Strong understanding of modern surveying techniques and technologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify inaccuracies or inconsistencies in data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to work under various weather conditions and terrains.
- Proficiency in utilizing GPS devices, theodolites, levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Aptitude for training and mentoring team members in surveying practices and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different sites as required.
