Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and committed Permanent Field Surveyor to enhance our dynamic workforce.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to apply their knowledge in the construction sector and significantly contribute to our ongoing initiatives.

The selected candidate will be tasked with executing various survey types, such as residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.

This position necessitates a solid grasp of fundamental computations and cutsheets.

The ideal applicant will possess over 5 years of relevant experience and will be proficient in contemporary surveying methodologies and technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive field surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
  • Prepare and uphold sketches, maps, and reports detailing legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume responsibility for work executed.
  • Ensure the precision of survey data, including measurements and calculations performed at survey locations.
  • Engage in research regarding surveying and mapping techniques, utilizing knowledge of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
  • Coordinate findings with engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
  • Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their precision.
  • Establish fixed points for mapping purposes, employing geodetic and engineering instruments.
  • Determine longitudes and latitudes of significant features and boundaries in survey areas, utilizing theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
  • Instruct assistants and helpers, guiding their efforts in activities such as conducting surveys or drafting maps.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a field surveyor, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
  • Proficiency in fundamental computations and cutsheets.
  • Strong understanding of modern surveying methodologies and technologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the capability to identify inaccuracies or inconsistencies in data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under varying weather conditions and terrains.
  • Proficiency in utilizing GPS devices, theodolites, levels, and other surveying instruments.
  • Capability to train and mentor team members in surveying techniques and practices.
  • Valid driver's license and the capacity to travel to various sites as required.
