Position Overview

The National Security Sector at Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test and Quality Assurance Engineer. This role involves working closely with various teams to fulfill mission-critical objectives related to the U-2 Dragon Lady aircraft.


Key Responsibilities

The Senior Test and Quality Assurance Engineer will:

  • Collaborate with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to formulate comprehensive data management and quality control plans for testing activities.
  • Contribute to the planning and documentation of testing and evaluation processes in line with Operational Test Command's (OTC) directives.
  • Conduct thorough research to assess the testability of Critical Operational Issues and Criteria (COIC).

Specific Tasks Include:
  • Reviewing test methodologies to ensure they meet overall design and specific performance requirements.
  • Preparing detailed reports on background materials for systems under evaluation.
  • Gathering necessary approvals for testing activities through proper documentation.
  • Analyzing test plans to identify support requirements, including funding, facilities, and personnel.
  • Finalizing the Test Plan (TP) to allocate tasks to Test Organizations and other support elements.
  • Ensuring that team members are adequately trained in test design and data management techniques.
  • Conducting quality assurance reviews to verify adherence to data collection and reduction protocols.
  • Maintaining the Master Event List (MEL) and ensuring the data collection plan is executed as intended.
  • Creating comprehensive test reporting documents and collaborating with IPTs to finalize analysis reports.
  • Preparing briefing materials to communicate findings and gain necessary approvals.
  • Engaging with other organizations to address inquiries related to testing projects.
  • Participating in work group meetings focused on assigned tests or experiments.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 to 13 years of experience.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience with military aircraft avionics systems and associated support systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with senior leadership.
  • A solid understanding of technical testing and quality assurance principles applicable across various programs.
  • The ability to lead and manage the work of other technical personnel.

Preferred Experience

Experience with U.S. Air Force testing processes and familiarity with the AFLCMC U-2 System Project Office (SPO) is advantageous.
