Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Relationship Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our client service team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, providing expert advice on fiduciary duties, trust and tax law, estate planning, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, their professional advisors, and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional client service and drive business growth.
  2. Provide proactive advice on Northern Trust's products and services, emerging issues, regulatory changes, and tax implications to clients.
  3. Collaborate with internal partners and external professional advisors to identify client needs and develop advice-driven solutions.
  4. Build and maintain knowledge of Northern Trust's fiduciary standards and practices, applying fiduciary knowledge and judgment to fiduciary relationships.
  5. Cultivate relationships with referral sources and external professional advisors to build the business and identify new opportunities.
  6. Travel to meet with clients as required, considering revenue, new business opportunities, or servicing requirements.
  7. Teach and mentor less experienced partners, providing leadership on fiduciary projects and committees.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7-10 years' experience as a relationship manager in trust administration, estate administration, estate planning, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of fiduciary and financial products and services, investments, tax, legal, and operations.
  • Skills in negotiating, problem-solving, delegating, leadership, and sales.
  • Leadership and organizational skills to determine business unit goals, resources needed, and assess and develop staff skills.
