Job Summary

Pillar College Inc is seeking a highly skilled SIS Application Analyst and IT Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our application systems, providing technical support to staff, faculty, and students, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • SIS Application Management:
    • Administer and maintain college-wide applications, including learning management systems, student information systems, and other critical software.
    • Collaborate with various departments to understand their software needs and ensure applications are configured and optimized to meet those needs.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, providing support and training to end-users as necessary.
    • Work with vendors and third-party support teams to resolve complex issues and ensure timely updates and patches are applied to applications.
    • Conduct regular audits of application performance and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
  • IT Support:
    • Provide first and second-level technical support to staff, faculty, and students, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Set up and maintain IT equipment, including computers, printers, projectors, and other classroom technology.
    • Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software, including the installation and configuration of systems.
    • Maintain accurate records of IT support requests, resolutions, and other activities using a helpdesk ticketing system.
    • Train users on new technologies and provide ongoing support to enhance their technological proficiency.
  • Project Management:
    • Participate in IT-related projects, including the implementation of new systems and the upgrading of existing ones.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Prepare project documentation, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all application systems are secure and comply with college policies, as well as industry regulations and best practices.
    • Regularly update security protocols and conduct vulnerability assessments on application systems.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for their implementation where appropriate.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement within IT operations and implement best practices.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience:
      • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in application support, IT support, or a similar role, preferably in an educational environment.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Proficiency in managing and supporting a variety of software applications, including learning management systems and student information systems.
      • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, hardware, and software.
      • Experience with helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
      • Familiarity with database management and scripting languages is a plus.
    • Soft Skills:
      • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of attention to detail.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
