Job Overview

Position Summary: The Landside Operations Specialist is responsible for managing the Commercial Transportation Area, which includes Valet, Taxi, Charter, TNC, and Courtesy Vehicle Booths. This role involves assisting airport patrons with their parking and transportation requirements, providing a warm welcome to customers, and offering essential information and directions related to transportation and parking services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Log and input ground transportation data, including trip logs for Taxis and Charters, into the departmental database for accurate tracking and billing.
  • Manage the exit plaza cashier booth by processing parking tickets, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate records of credit card transactions and cash receipts.
  • Conduct nightly inventory of parking facilities using an authority vehicle and adjust facility counters as necessary.
  • Direct traffic flow at the terminal commercial curb, ensuring safe crossings for customers while controlling commercial pickup lanes.
  • Assist customers with their transportation needs until the last flight has cleared, ensuring that all inquiries and requirements are addressed.

Documentation and Communication:

Process various documents associated with departmental operations within specified timeframes, ensuring compliance with established procedures. This includes reviewing, completing, and forwarding documentation as appropriate, as well as preparing reports and maintaining both computerized and hardcopy records.

Utilize various office equipment and software to perform essential functions, including data entry, retrieval, and modification using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Engage with Airport Authority officials, supervisors, colleagues, clients, and third-party service contractors to coordinate work activities, exchange information, and resolve any issues that may arise.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of one year in a related field or equivalent training and education.

Licenses: Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Physical Requirements: The role requires light physical effort, including some lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Extended periods at a workstation or keyboard may be necessary.
