The Saint Charles Convention Center is a premier full-service convention venue in the Saint Louis Metro Area, offering 154,000 square feet of flexible space to accommodate a wide range of events from 10-3,000 attendees. As a proud member of the Oakview Group Management team, we boast a highly-rated facility that excels in providing exceptional customer service and event experiences.

Facility Features

Our venue features 1,200 free parking spaces, 21 meeting rooms and breakouts, two elegant ballrooms, and an expandable exhibit hall with carpet and drape options. In-house services include delicious food and beverage, experienced event planners, audio visual, decorating, onsite security, marketing, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Meet specified goals and objectives for facility usage.
  • Meet departmental revenue and team goals.
  • Promote the convention center to all potential clients, utilizing food and beverage services, conducting facility tours, answering questions, and providing information regarding facility services, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate tastings for clients.
  • Main Sales contact for all groups within assigned market.
  • Research and qualify groups for the facility.
  • Actively prospect and make solicitation calls for new business.
  • Create event resumes for events needing food and beverage services.
  • Make verbal presentations to groups of various sizes.
  • Prepare proposals, license agreements, and correspondence to clients.
  • Prepare event resumes for food functions occurring at the center.
  • Enter and maintain complete and accurate information in Ungerboeck (CRM) software.
  • Maintain a large account base.
  • Participate in the development of newsletters and other marketing materials.
  • Provide assistance and staff support to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Serve as a liaison with industry representatives, the general public, and other convention center departments and divisions.
  • Plan and supervise banquet staff during catering functions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, memoranda, agreements, and forecast projections.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Exemplify the Our Promise principles.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and Microsoft products knowledge, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be constantly aware of changing events, such as staff or supply shortages.
  • Organized and focused on customer service.
  • Knowledgeable in marketing and sales procedures, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience with event scheduling and booking procedures.
  • Accurate financial reporting.
  • Knowledgeable in food, beverage, and hospitality practices.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Knowledge of EBMS software preferred.
  • Experience in public facility management highly preferred.
