Job Summary

Genesis Capital is seeking a highly skilled Jr. Asset Underwriter to join our team. As a Jr. Asset Underwriter, you will be responsible for managing a high-volume loan pipeline and ensuring loans close as scheduled and in compliance. This is a dual role where you will act as both a processor and underwriter on a specific subset of loans considered to be non-complex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a high-volume loan pipeline and ensure loans close as scheduled and in compliance.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, sales teams, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate loan processing.
  • Conduct quality control of all documents received and saved to the internal loan processing system.
  • Review and analyze loan data, including ratios, percentages, and loan metrics, to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Set tasks and conditions necessary for loan funding and ensure all documentation meets underwriting policy.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Underwriting Manager to review and approve loan files.
  • Provide excellent customer service and problem-solving solutions to all parties involved in the loan process.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in mortgage loan processing or 2-3 years in credit analyst/underwriting related experience in a commercial bank.
  • Experience in private money lending, underwriting, or construction finance a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
