- Oversee and coordinate the activities of assigned personnel.
- Manage and regulate the mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation preventative maintenance initiatives.
- Facilitate repairs, maintenance, and modifications in collaboration with operations and other departments to reduce downtime.
- Direct the efforts of external contractors as necessary, including defining job scopes and obtaining appropriate quotes.
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies throughout the facility.
- Supervise troubleshooting of equipment failures, collaborating with operations staff to resolve reliability issues.
- Establish effective controls to ensure adherence to efficient operational procedures.
- Review ongoing and completed repairs/construction to guarantee quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to provide supervisory coverage during off-shifts as required.
- Contribute to the design of new equipment and modifications to enhance reliability, production, or energy efficiency.
- Select and recommend training opportunities for maintenance personnel.
- Assess and recommend necessary repair parts and supplies for critical equipment.
- Review and generate work orders, ensuring timely closure upon completion.
- Process daily payroll information for direct reports.
- Generate and disseminate daily updates on work performed and job statuses.
- Manage maintenance overtime requirements effectively.
- Participate in plant call duty and weekend supervision rotation.
- Enter purchase requisitions as needed.
- Conduct and document plant audits focusing on safety behaviors, housekeeping, and procedures.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
- Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Assist in the design and development of instrumentation systems, including evaluating and specifying equipment within budget constraints.
- Construct, modify, and repair process and laboratory instrumentation devices, including hard-wired and programmable logic systems for temperature, flow, pH, conductivity, and turbidity.
- Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of plant process control loops.
- Analyze and repair plant telephone systems, public address systems, and related components, including troubleshooting electronic test equipment.
- Engage in plant safety programs actively.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
