Job Summary:

As a Fleet Maintenance Technician with Student Transportation of America, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of commercial vehicles. We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to perform complex operations, including engine, electrical, fuel, brake, and exhaust repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough, accurate preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Complete all required maintenance operations, including lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation, following schedules and OEM standards.
Perform unscheduled maintenance as needed, working closely with the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Conduct complex repairs and field tests, interpreting and working from drawings, specifications, and other technical materials.
Provide emergency roadside services as needed, ensuring the safety of our drivers and passengers.
Inspect equipment and diagnose mechanical defects, documenting repairs and parts on work orders completely and accurately.
Maintain tools and workplaces in a neat and orderly condition, adhering to company standards.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or mechanic, with a strong background in preventative maintenance and repair.
Accreditation from a school or certification program, such as ASE certification, is preferred.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and complete all training requirements.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
