Gameplay Engineer

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a skilled Gameplay Engineer to join our team. As a Gameplay Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various gameplay systems for Diablo 4.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement gameplay systems that meet the design vision and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to iterate on gameplay features.
  • Optimize gameplay performance and ensure smooth and responsive player experiences.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues in gameplay systems.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of game programming experience and shipped at least 1 AAA title.
  • Proficient in C/C++.
  • Experience in several of the following areas: quests and narrative content systems, user interface, player abilities, combat, AI, or other game systems.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivation and willingness to participate in many areas of game development.
Bonus:
  • In-depth familiarity with the Diablo franchise and other Blizzard Entertainment products.
  • Experience playing and/or developing RPGs, ARPGs, and/or MMORPGs.
  • Experience working with client/server game systems.
  • Experience crafting and supporting tools used in game development.
  • Experience with C#.
  • Computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience.
