As a Senior Gameplay Engineer at Blizzard Entertainment, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting the engaging and rewarding gameplay systems that define the Diablo 4 universe. You'll collaborate closely with designers, artists, and fellow engineers to bring our vision to life, ensuring every aspect of the game delivers on its promise of thrilling action and immersive storytelling.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implement Gameplay Systems: Develop, refine, and maintain core gameplay systems for Diablo 4, adhering to design specifications and performance targets.
  • Collaborative Development: Work hand-in-hand with designers, artists, and other engineers to iterate on gameplay features, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency throughout the development process.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as a technical liaison between engineering and other disciplines, fostering clear communication and collaboration.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and enhance the performance of gameplay systems, ensuring smooth and responsive player experiences across diverse hardware configurations.
  • Mentorship and Growth: Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members, cultivating a collaborative and growth-oriented development environment.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, debug, and resolve complex issues within gameplay systems, ensuring stability and reliability in the final product.
Your Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in game programming with at least one shipped AAA title.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming language.
  • Experience in several areas such as quests and narrative systems, user interfaces, player abilities, combat, AI, or other game systems.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
