h2Job Title: Electrical Substation Superintendent/h2pAt TransForce, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of work performed by our crews, coordinating billings with clients, and monitoring the safety, quality, and production of our teams./ppbKey Responsibilities:/b/pulliAccountable for quality of work to ensure that it is being performed according to specifications./liliCoordinate billings with the owner's representative (inspector) before billings are sent./liliVisit crews and monitor their safety, quality, & production./liliMonitor and review equipment (use, storage, servicing, damage, rentals, fuel reports, etc.)./liliAccountable for equipment maintenance and repair./liliReview personnel (safety, performance, training, tardy/absentee, pay raises, CDL requirements, personal evaluations, i.e., personal problems/distractions, etc.)./liliEnsure that tool inventories are completed and up to date./liliGet feedback from the Owner on quality, safety, schedule, materials, etc.../liliAttend all required project meetings with the Owner./liliGenerate and maintain a list of required personnel & equipment./liliGenerate an initial list of required tooling./liliFinalize any contractual requirements; (including but not limited to Notice to Proceed filings, Licenses or Permits, project close-out documents, and attend required Owner meetings when possible)./liliEvaluate bid opportunities for business unit./liliIf the potential work fits the Substation business unit, review scope of work and Plan-Profile documents./liliIf required, attend job walk and prepare organization./liliIf required, secure quotes from subcontractors and/or material vendors from area./liliAssist with all required support documents to accompany bid; (Including but not limited to the following, Construction Plan, Schedules, and Licenses)./liliReview and become familiar with entire contract./liliReview entire bid with BU./liliComplete unit and material Take-Off's./liliCoordinate the securing of yard or show-up with client, material receiving team and construction team./liliAttend pre-construction meeting with BU./liliArrange for accounts to be opened./liliArrange for personnel & equipment transfers to project./liliInstitute construction plan (organize crews & assign foreman to job task)./liliCoordinate with regional safety manager to prepare a site specific Project Safety Plan and submit to client./liliCoordinate major project activities (such as SWPPP, locates, environmental, fire/water plan, subcontractor work, internal labor activity, etc.)./liliAssist with updating schedules and/or progress reports./liliEnsure that all contract-related documents are secure, and copies are forwarded to key management and stakeholders./liliVerify that as-builts & progress charts are maintained and kept separate from construction blueprints and specifications./liliHave a good line of communication with the inspector./liliKeep journal of major events/documentation from owner (such as delays, etc.)./liliEnsure that all change-orders are documented and submitted before commencing the work and then billed to the Owner in a timely matter./liliArrange and/or participate in weekly foremen meetings (review if not attending)./liliArrange and/or participate in monthly safety meetings (review if not attending)./liliParticipate in monthly job safety review meetings./liliAccountable for tracking and resolving or mitigating issues associated with cost, progress, and schedule for duration of project./liliGenerate and/or review/sign superintendent's reports, daily time sheets, daily job briefings, pay raise request, summary of expenditures, billings to Owner, etc./liliBe prepared to make changes to people or equipment on the job, if conditions warrant./liliMonitor units completed versus proposed or bid./liliAssist BU with monthly forecast by the 10th of each month./liliAccountable for compliance with safety program and review all accidents./liliFollow all policies and procedures./liliFollow up on any complaints (from owner, general public, or landowners)./liliAsk for guidance from BU when negotiating any changes to scope of work and required additional pricing (bidding can assist with pricing)./liliReview and monitor project reports (such as labor/equipment cost, Wright Express, etc.)./liliAccountable to see that close out procedures are followed. (Follow Check List in Policy Book)./liliReview final billing to ensure that all items are billed./liliCoordinate personnel & equipment transfers from project./liliAssist BU with bluesheet data (such as tooling, traffic control, restoration, and other cost)./li/ulpbRequirements:/b/pulliMay be required to relocate as work requirements demand./liliMay be required to hold a valid class B commercial driver's license./liliRead and interpret blueprints./liliDrive and operate conveyance machinery equipped with tools and materials to job site./liliAdheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies/liliMay work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems./liliMay attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training./liliWork with limited supervision./liliLifting and handling materials up to 60 pounds unassisted./liliWalking and working across uneven terrain./liliClimbing on and off large trucks and equipment./liliExposure to hot and cold weather conditions./li/ulpThis position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199./ppAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran./ppEqual Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans./p
