Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at SSM Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the Operating Room environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Assist the surgical team with patient preparation, positioning, and draping, as well as maintaining aseptic technique throughout the procedure.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurses, to ensure seamless execution of the surgical plan.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, allergies, and medications.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the procedure, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an approved surgical technology program preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
