Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the Operating Room with necessary equipment and supplies for patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care that prioritizes patient needs.
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to the Registered Nurse regarding patients in their care.
  • Utilize aseptic technique when handling supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Document quality controls thoroughly and accurately according to unit-specific standards.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Either prior experience or graduation from an approved surgical technician program.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
