Trench Safety Division

The Heavy Equipment Operator with CDL A position at Sunstate involves the assembly, loading, unloading, and transportation of trench shoring apparatus to and from client job sites utilizing a knuckle boom lift crane. Safety is our utmost priority; therefore, a thorough understanding of DOT regulations and proper load securing methods is essential, in accordance with company protocols. Success in this role requires effective and professional communication with both colleagues and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possession of a Class A CDL License & DOT Medical Card is mandatory – no exceptions. (Sunstate will cover the renewal of the DOT Medical card if necessary)
  • 50% of the duties will involve transporting Trench and MAP shoring to and from client job sites using flatbed trailer semi trucks. Experience with flatbed semi trucks is essential.
  • The remaining 50% of the role will encompass, but is not limited to, equipment assembly, testing, inspection, power washing, inventory management, and various yard responsibilities.
  • Physical stamina is required, including but not limited to walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Maintain positive customer relations by consistently demonstrating courtesy, professionalism, and helpfulness. Drivers are viewed as an extension of the sales team.
