Job Summary

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Chicago is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Joint Replacement Surgery clinical team. As an APP, you will work as an independent provider, using best practices and knowledge of patients to exercise autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments.

Responsibilities
  • Provides healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a physician or in collaboration with a physician.
  • Sees clinic patients independently at various clinical locations, including the University of Chicago Advent LaGrange clinic, Ambulatory clinic in Hyde Park, and other offsite locations.
  • Holds independent clinics and provides care for new, return, and pre- and post-operative patients.
  • Performs in-office procedures (arthrocentesis and others).
  • Provides assistance in the Operating Room.
  • Works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary orthopaedic team, using advanced clinical skills and knowledge to provide comprehensive direct patient care and services to patients under the care of the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Requirements
  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree from an accredited school/college.
