Advanced Pharmacy Technician, Inventory Optimization Specialist

The Advanced Pharmacy Technician, Inventory Optimization role at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise in medication management and inventory optimization. As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will be responsible for optimizing Pyxis inventory, troubleshooting Pyxis issues, and assisting with drug shortage management and formulary management related to Pyxis inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize Pyxis inventory by adjusting pars based on utilization, reducing stock outs and expired medications, and reconfiguring Pyxis storage space to accommodate medication supply
- Troubleshoot Pyxis issues and assist with Pyxis maintenance and repairs
- Assist with drug shortage management and formulary management related to Pyxis inventory
- Participate in Pyxis device upgrades and moves
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a pharmacy technician, two (2) of the years in area of advanced pharmacy technician concentration
- Registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist Intern is required
- National certification with Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred
- Sterile compounding (IV) certification accredited by ACPE required in Sterile & Hazardous Compounding and Investigational Drug Services only
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required by start date
