Position Overview

The Residential Support Advisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive living environment for students. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety, order, and well-being of residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance in residential areas, including tasks such as light bulb replacements and appliance repairs.
  • Resource Management: Manage and distribute supplies related to Social Development to designated areas.
  • Behavior Monitoring: Observe and manage student conduct during meal times in communal dining spaces.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Ensure that the outdoor areas surrounding the residential facilities are kept clean and orderly.
  • Resident Support: Provide assistance as a Resident Advisor when necessary, fostering a supportive community.
  • Discipline Enforcement: Uphold standards of order and discipline within the assigned residential area, encouraging self-regulation among students.
  • Training Participation: Attend required training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow all established policies and procedures diligently.
  • Transportation Duties: Facilitate transportation for students to various activities, events, or appointments as needed.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular fire and safety inspections, maintaining accurate logs of findings.
  • Secure Environment: Create and maintain a safe and secure atmosphere for both students and staff.
  • Documentation Management: Keep electronic logs as directed and review audits of case notes and other relevant documentation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Housekeeping Standards: Promote and ensure adherence to good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Career Development: Model and monitor standards related to career success.
  • Staff Training: Engage in mandatory staff training sessions to remain informed and effective in the role.
