Position Overview: Business Banker Team Lead

Note: This position may be based in various locations within our operational hubs.

The Business Banker Team Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Business Banker roles, including the initiation of new commercial relationships and the cross-selling of services to existing clients. This position is crucial for driving growth in commercial deposits, loans, and fee income while adhering to the bank's business development strategy and ensuring compliance with credit quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage business development initiatives, providing sales leadership and oversight of the commercial sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate on sales strategies across all business lines, including participating in joint client calls.
  • Maintain portfolio accuracy by staying informed on relevant regulations, products, and pricing.
  • Identify and cultivate commercial prospects within targeted markets, ensuring growth in loan portfolios.
  • Engage with clients in a consultative manner, helping them recognize and address business opportunities and risks.
  • Prepare for and conduct sales meetings, utilizing sales and credit tools effectively.
  • Evaluate financial statements and related data to assess creditworthiness and negotiate terms.
  • Oversee credit requests, ensuring thorough discussions and pursuit of viable opportunities.
  • Participate in credit underwriting and documentation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor credit quality and minimize risk of loss through diligent oversight of client performance.
  • Engage in community activities that promote the bank and support business development.
  • Complete required training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Support team members in their professional development and align individual goals with departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit qualified candidates for open positions.
  • Provide ongoing feedback regarding performance and career progression.
  • Address performance issues promptly and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Work with leadership to enhance team capabilities in credit management and business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Business and Commercial Banking, emphasizing consultative selling.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial Credit required.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of business clients.
  • Proficient in CRM applications, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on mission-driven objectives.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full time

Compensation: The targeted salary for this role is $116,000 - $152,040. Incentive compensation and benefits may also be offered, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Health Savings Account, and Paid Time Off. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skills.
