Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Program Administrator and in collaboration with the Child Development and Out-of-School Time Leadership Team, the Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning, organization, and oversight of the Out-of-School Time (OST) program. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of exceptional services that foster academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall health and wellness among participants. The Coordinator exemplifies integrity, responsibility, and respect, serving as a role model for colleagues, staff, and families involved in the program.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Duties:
  • Facilitates the development and execution of engaging curricula that enhance skills, self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, and character growth.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing standards while fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Communicates effectively with parents and community partners.
  • Participates actively in organizational fundraising initiatives.
  • Maintains a safe, healthy, and stimulating program environment.
  • Positions the YMCA as a vital community resource.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Prioritizes the safety and emotional well-being of children, parents, and educational staff.
  • Utilizes positive guidance techniques for both children and staff, ensuring consistency across the team.
  • Oversees the program's development and quality, aligning with the YMCA's mission, including staff schedules, curriculum planning, supervision, meetings, and special events.
  • Ensures all personnel, payroll, and licensing documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant standards.
  • Maintains accurate records of attendance, children's files, evaluations, and reporting for parents and regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinates transportation logistics for program participants.
  • Collaborates with the Business Manager to ensure family accounts are managed in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadership team.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. The Coordinator may need to sit on the floor with children and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include the ability to see both close and at a distance.
