Job Title: BESS Portfolio Manager

We are seeking an experienced BESS Portfolio Manager to join our team at Strata Solar LLC. As a key member of our Asset Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of our BESS portfolio, ensuring optimal operations and compliance with all relevant project documents and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up assets for success and advocate for Owner's interests through handover processes from development to operations.
  • Directly oversee BESS sites during operations, collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Monitor, track, and report KPIs associated with operations and finances, providing clear explanations of variances.
  • Own the P&L for the BESS portfolio, understanding drivers of financial performance, managing costs, and budgeting to bridge expectations to outcomes.
  • Ideate and implement strategic initiatives to improve operational performance, providing clear, data-driven analysis of potential gains and thoughtful risk assessment.
  • Conduct thorough review of contractual requirements and work with the Asset Management team to provide key deliverables and manage commercial responsibilities.
  • Manage investor and lender relationships, hosting calls, answering questions, and keeping stakeholders apprised of asset performance.
  • Build solid working relationships with all involved parties to ensure smooth communication between teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, Finance, or Renewable Energy.
  • 3+ years of BESS operations/asset management experience.
  • Experience with the CAISO market, contract administration, structured finance, and leadership.
  • Familiarity with project management, construction oversight, contract negotiation, engineering, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent written communication, organization, and time management skills.
