Job Summary

The Chemical Operator position at Aurorium LLC is responsible for performing all duties associated with the manufacturing of chemical products at our facility. This role will be responsible for batch processing, including charging material, processing batches, monitoring and recording data, loading, unloading, and cleaning equipment, packaging product, maintaining a safe and orderly work area, and assisting other production areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Batch Processing and Manufacturing: Performs duties associated with batch processing and overall chemical manufacturing for our site.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensures workplace safety by practicing and following all site safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Equipment Operation: Operates chemical equipment, including reactors, pumps, stills, centrifuges, dryers, and other manufacturing equipment with proficiency.
  • Hazardous Waste Disposal: Handles disposal of all hazardous waste properly and in accordance with policies to ensure compliance.
  • Production Goals: Achieves production needs and goals consistently while making efforts to minimize product waste and downtime.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintains the cleaning and upkeep of department equipment.
  • Adherence to SOPs: Adheres to all Aurorium Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Forklift Operation: Operates forklift to move and stack raw or finish goods.
  • Record Keeping: Maintains detailed records and documents shift information daily.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Performs daily activities independently with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with the PTL and Lead Operator.
  • Training and Development: Assists in cross-training team members and co-workers as needed.
  • Housekeeping and 5S: Maintains outstanding housekeeping and 5S.
  • Loading and Sampling: Observes loading process to ensure accurate completion and samples containers and delivers samples to the Quality Lab for testing/analysis.
  • SAP Transactions: Performs SAP transactions corresponding to the operating duties executed.
  • Work Environment: Works indoors and outdoors (potentially extreme temperatures) and with chemicals and chemical waste products, some of which can be hazardous.
  • Team Collaboration: Works with a team to organize tasks - rotating job functions and coordinating break times.
  • Additional Duties: Performs additional duties as assigned/required.

  • Incident Reporting: Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.
