Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled speech and language pathologist to provide support to our students in a dynamic and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students to grow academically and socio-emotionally, and will be committed to working collaboratively with our team to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide formal and informal evaluations of speech and language skills of K-8 students
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) addressing specific goals and objectives with measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student progress through collection of data and provide recommendations to families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain written documentation of all evaluations, IEP goals, progress notes, and communication in a compliant and timely manner
  • Provide consultation to general and/or special education team members regarding student needs and best practices
  • Facilitate social skills groups with K-8 students
  • Participate actively, cooperatively, and constructively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with families, teachers, and professionals in related disciplines
  • Assess and maintain adaptive and augmentative equipment to facilitate the functional communication needs of students
  • Stay current with appropriate instructional theory, practice, and research, and engage in regular and strategic professional development to stay current in best practices for diverse learners
Requirements
  • Certification or in the process of certification in the state of Rhode Island
  • U.S. citizenship or residency, or work visa
  • Master's degree in the area of Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience with diverse populations preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a school setting preferred
  • RIDE certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Licensure as a registered Speech-Language Pathologist from the Rhode Island Department of Health
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
