Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Intervention Strategies

Plan and implement individualized intervention strategies that foster communicative competence in students with speech and language disorders.

Collaborate with Classroom Teachers

Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement strategies to support students with speech and language disorders in the general education classroom.

Assess and Evaluate Student Needs

Select and conduct appropriate assessments based on individual student needs to identify areas of strength and weakness in speech and language skills.

Develop IEPs and Annual Review Reports

Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and annual review reports that are strength-based and focused on overall education improvement.

Participate in CSE Meetings

Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings to develop and implement plans to support students with speech and language disorders.

Engage in Continuing Education and Professional Growth

Engage in ongoing professional development and growth activities to stay current with best practices in speech and language therapy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • NY State certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working with students with speech and language disorders in a school setting.
