Job Summary

The Estimator/Operations Assistant provides direct support to help franchises grow and improve their estimate practices on Commercial Large Loss projects. This includes evaluating the franchise's current processes for estimating and documentation to assist in managing a large complex commercial project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional estimating services for fire, water, mold, and cleaning jobs.
  • Monitor projects on a daily basis.
  • Conduct site visits to educate customers on the job process.
  • Communicate with the restoration team and office team on a daily basis.
  • Document and report all findings based on industry standards or personal experiences.
  • Provide detailed, line-item scope and estimates for items within the project that require further investigation.
  • Identify general project requirements and constraints to bring the structure and contents back to pre-loss conditions.
  • Divide projects into sections to make the scope more manageable.
  • Document all dimensions, diagrams, and images of each room or section.
  • Identify and document all tasks that must be performed in each room or section.
  • Identify and document any exclusions from the scope of work.
  • Discuss the scope of work with customers.
  • Review project requirements, including National Account bulletins, insurance company requirements, and local agreements, that may be applicable to specific jobs.
  • Create project estimates using agreed-upon estimating platforms.
  • Send out bid requests for specific subcontracted work as needed.
  • Compile and submit project proposal packets.
  • Learn to use DocuSketch, SERVPRO Drybook Software, and Time & Material Estimating Software.
  • Effectively communicate with all members of the restoration staff and delegate duties to team members.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve performance.
  • Develop employees for opportunities of greater responsibility, improving their abilities, skills, and knowledge through instruction and training.
  • Work with support personnel to ensure all aspects of the job are met to prevent delays in the job process.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures and implement safe working procedures in assigned restoration areas.
  • Be on call to assist with after-hours losses.
  • Assist with the administrative aspect of losses, including documentation, monitoring, equipment, tracking, and more.
  • Learn to write Emergency Ready Profiles (ERPs) for commercial clients.
Position Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • At least one year of restoration industry experience preferred.
  • IICRC certifications preferred.
  • Experience in building a strong team with tangible leadership skills.
  • Strong process and results-driven attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on project management, building codes, and documentation of all areas of project management.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant computer applications.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, and work in tight spaces.
  • Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects.
  • Ability to work with/around cleaning agents.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
