Fleet Maintenance Manager Job Description

MV Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance of our fixed route bus operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, managing a budget for the maintenance program, and overseeing a team of maintenance personnel.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and programs to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers to ensure optimal maintenance operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for maintenance programs to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including clients, to ensure seamless maintenance operations.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of journey-level mechanic experience and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in maintenance supervision of five (5) or more mechanics.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified for Transit Bus (H series) and Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicles (L3).
  • Valid Class B or greater Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Medical Card.
  • Previous passenger transportation experience in a similar environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and interface with clients.


Starting salary range: $135,000 - $174,000
