About the Role

Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and repair a wide range of issues, from electrical and brake systems to cooling systems and engine electronics.
  • Inspect and Test Vehicles: Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify any issues or malfunctions.
  • Manage Parts Inventory: Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on the company-issued service truck.
  • Document Work Performed: Accurately document all work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Communicate with Clients: Work with clients to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve any issues.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license and meeting Cox Automotive Mobility minimum driving qualification standards are required.
  • DOT Medical Card: A valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one before employment or within 72 hours of hire is required.
  • ASE Certification: Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
