The Guidance Center, a leading community mental health organization in Kansas, is seeking a dedicated Child and Family Therapist to join our team. Based in Leavenworth, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals and families.

About the Role

This full-time position involves providing assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapy services to clients, including individual, family, and group sessions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for completing SED waiver assessments and providing daytime crisis services as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments and develop initial treatment plans for clients at The Guidance Center and in the community
  • Maintain a caseload and provide ongoing therapy services to CBS clients, including those without assigned therapists
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients
  • Participate in clinical supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling, and be licensed by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. A minimum of one year's experience in a clinical setting, providing assessment and therapy services, is also required.

Prior experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and evidence-based practices is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.

Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $68,149 to $73,149 per year, based on licensure and relevant experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision coverage, KPERS retirement system, paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and education reimbursement opportunities.
