Job Title: Controls Engineer

At BorgWarner, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Arden, NC. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for manufacturing areas, ensuring safe working practices and product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recommend and implement hardware/programming solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop equipment and controls for new products and improve existing equipment
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment, reduce downtime, and execute plant equipment moves/modifications
  • Maintain all programs used on the manufacturing floor, including PLC, vision, and robot systems
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineer with specifying and installing new equipment, including review/verification of safety systems and programming integration
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in controls engineering, with experience programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs and Siemens SIMATIC PLCs
  • Experience with machine vision programming and troubleshooting robots, with knowledge of databases and ability to interface with PLC via RSSQL, FTTM, Ignition, or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
