Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform controls engineering functions for manufacturing areas by recommending and/or implementing hardware/programming solutions that adhere to required plant safety and product quality standards for cost reduction, continuous improvement, and special projects.
- Ensure safe working practices are designed into all processes and interact with co-workers from all levels of the organization in cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to develop equipment and controls for new products as well as improving existing equipment (cycle time, scrap reduction, improved quality, etc).
- Maintain all programs (PLC, vision, robot, etc) used on the manufacturing floor and assist Manufacturing Engineer with specifying and installing new equipment including review/verification of safety systems, programming integration, connection to pertinent data collection systems, etc.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs using RSLogix 5000 and RSLogix 500, Siemens SIMATIC PLCs, machine vision programming, and robot troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience working with databases (MS SQL) and ability to interface with PLC via RSSQL, FTTM (Factory Talk Transaction Manager), Ignition, or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
