Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for performing admission duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, and provide proper patient instructions.
  • Collect insurance information, receive, and process physician orders, and utilize an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in interactions with patients and staff.
  • Pre-register patient accounts before patient visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients and obtain necessary signatures and witness's name.
  • Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system and select the applicable insurance plan code.
  • Responsible for accurately screening medical necessity using the Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software and distributing the ABN as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • CRCR Certification (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
