Job Overview

The Flexible Packaging Converting Lead is essential in managing and coordinating the processes involved in transforming flexible packaging film into various products such as bags and pouches. This role is pivotal in ensuring that production activities are executed efficiently and effectively. As a leader, you will be responsible for mentoring and guiding film converting operators, maintaining machinery, and upholding product quality to the highest standards. A comprehensive training program will be provided to enhance your skills in operating advanced flexible packaging converting machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of film printing and converting operators, offering training and support to maximize performance and productivity.
  • Develop and implement production procedures while training other operators on best practices.
  • Gain proficiency in operating state-of-the-art flexible packaging converting machinery.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor production quality, making adjustments as needed to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with the production manager to prioritize and schedule jobs effectively.
  • Uphold safety standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols among team members.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including job logs and maintenance records.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving measures.
  • Conduct training sessions for operators, keeping them informed about industry advancements and best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production workflows.
  • Operate converting equipment as required.
  • Interpret production orders to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Report any defective materials or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform all tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Update relevant management information systems with production data.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a print packaging environment, preferably with flexible packaging films.
  • Experience with Digital, Offset, or Flexographic printing is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel for equipment training.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated integrity and accountability in work practices.
  • Ability to follow and train others on standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and implement creative solutions.
