Job Summary

Union Bank & Trust Company is seeking a highly skilled Securities and Account Processing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating corporate actions on securities held within the trust division, ensuring all elections are made prior to deadlines, and completing daily settlements with our securities custodians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate corporate actions on securities held within the trust division, including ensuring all elections are made prior to deadlines.
  • Complete daily settlement with Fifth Third and Depository Trust Company (DTC) for stock/bond trades, handling volumes ranging from 1 million to 60 million or higher.
  • Process daily postings of incoming and outgoing transfers, fees, dividends, interest, trades, calls, maturities, and pay downs.
  • Handle physical securities to/from custodian, utilizing proper legal documents and procedures, and posting requests on the Trust Accounting System.
  • Research and resolve trade discrepancies and complex situations, communicating with brokers as necessary.
  • Process daily acquisition and affirmation of DTC confirmations.
  • Generate statements on a monthly basis and on demand as necessary.
  • Provide key back-up and assistance with other Trust Operations positions, serving as a resource for Trust Operations questions.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to this role, completing compliance training and following internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two to three years accounting, finance, or bank operations experience or two to four-year degree in a related field.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of transactions under strict hourly and daily deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and in working with other financial software.

Working Environment

Indoor work – not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards. Sedentary work, occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines upon completion of onboarding.
