Job Summary

DHR Health is seeking a highly skilled Trauma Care Specialist to join our team. As an extension of our Level I Trauma Center, you will be involved in every aspect of care, including inpatient and ICU rounding, responding to trauma activations, and post-discharge outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with trauma surgeons and residents to adjust plans of care and provide effective health care.
  • Assist with trauma, burn, and general surgery operating procedures as needed.
  • Participate in daily rounding and identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, evaluate patient outcomes, and collaborate with physicians for further care management.
  • Monitor and trend PI indicators as outlined by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT), Texas DSHS, and hospital criteria.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an Accredited Program.
  • Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Current CPR Certification, PALS, ACLS, ATLS, and TOPIC within specified timeframes.
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or Trauma experience.
  • Understanding of concepts of quality and performance improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and within groups.
