Trauma Care Specialist

DHR Health is seeking a highly skilled Trauma Care Specialist to join our team. As an extension of our Level I Trauma Center, you will be involved in every aspect of care, including inpatient and ICU rounding, responding to trauma activations, and post-discharge outpatient clinic.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with trauma surgeons and residents to adjust plans of care and provide effective health care.
- Assist with trauma, burn, and general surgery operating procedures as needed.
- Participate in daily rounding and identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, evaluate patient outcomes, and collaborate with physicians for further care management.
- Monitor and trend PI indicators as outlined by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT), Texas DSHS, and hospital criteria.
- Graduate from an Accredited Program.
- Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current CPR Certification, PALS, ACLS, ATLS, and TOPIC within specified timeframes.
- Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or Trauma experience.
- Understanding of concepts of quality and performance improvement.
- Ability to work independently and within groups.
