About the Role: Pharmaceutical Care Specialist

In the capacity of a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to deliver extensive pharmaceutical services through coordinated medication distribution, patient education, and training initiatives. This position entails processing medication requests, overseeing patient medication regimens, and offering drug-related information. Additionally, you will guide and manage support personnel and may be called upon to take on the duties of the Pharmacy Director when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting is required (recent graduates are welcome to apply)
  • Preferred experience of two to three years in a hospital environment
  • Capability to operate autonomously and manage stress proficiently
  • Flexibility to adjust to varying workloads and efficiently manage interruptions
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with pharmacy legislation and guidelines
  • Dedication to UHS's Compliance Program

Educational Background and Licensure:

  • Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Valid license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
  • ASHP IV certification or completion of an accredited program within 180 days of employment if not already certified
