About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinician to join our team as a Child Well-Being Professional. In this critical role, you will provide professional opinions, technical expertise, and technical assistance regarding child well-being and trauma-informed care to support children entering the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct behavioral health screenings and services for children, including those traveling alone or with their families.
  • Integrate across stakeholder groups to provide child-focused, trauma-informed services to children and DHS agents and staff.
  • Escalate identified psychosocial needs and provide direct care to children in crisis.
  • Coordinate seamless referral of children to community behavioral or physical health providers, if necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination of care for children who have special needs or ongoing physical, mental, or behavioral health concerns.
  • Serve as a daily resource, working alongside DHS staff to inform and coordinate decision making.
  • Facilitate continuity of care as children are transferred.
  • Assist in the documentation and information transfer for individual cases.
  • Provide necessary information regarding child wellbeing during meetings at the facility level.
  • Conduct environmental scans of the facilities to recommend and implement appropriate and operationally feasible measures to create a child-friendly environment.
  • Perform other related scope of practice duties, as assigned.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in systems of record within required timeframes.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or an equivalent degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant Behavioral Science.
  • Independent and unrestricted licensure (LICSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LP, or equivalent) in social work, counseling, or related field required.
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure working with children, to include the direct provision of services, evaluations, and crisis intervention.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole, and/or French, and/or Portuguese required.
  • Ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation, or other complex situations with compassion and decisiveness.
  • Have experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environment.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support a diverse group of clients, including refugees or other immigrant families.
  • Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, MS Teams.
  • Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources for victims of abuse, preferred.
  • Experience in a clinical or immigration setting, strongly preferred.
Work Environment
  • Location: onsite at assigned CBP processing center.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Available to travel, as required, within their state of licensure.
  • Tasks/assignments are dynamic and will change based on client needs and resource availability.
Security Clearance/Background Check Requirements
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.
