Senior Electrical Engineer for Large-Scale Solar Projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Design Engineering: Create detailed electrical system designs for photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects from the initial concept through to the final construction documentation.
  • Utility Interconnection Management: Oversee the interconnection process with utility companies and grid operators, ensuring smooth transitions from initial applications to operational phases.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to define and monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources specifically related to electrical engineering tasks.
  • Risk Management: Assess potential risks associated with electrical systems and develop effective strategies to mitigate them.
  • Quality Control: Perform comprehensive quality assurance checks to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshooting Support: Assist in identifying and resolving electrical issues during both the construction and operational stages of projects.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate precise electrical schematics, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Innovation and Research: Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and emerging technologies to propose innovative solutions that enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the utility-scale renewable energy sector. Candidates with diverse backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Experience in design/build construction is crucial.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate the financial implications of engineering decisions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst) and Microsoft Office Suite.
