Position Summary

The Engineering Director will be stationed at our headquarters and will play a pivotal role in managing utility-scale solar projects. This position entails overseeing the civil and electrical design processes from inception through execution.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Director will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with engineering consultants to ensure effective design for solar projects, focusing on land development, stormwater management, and erosion control.
  • Leading in-house design efforts and developing comprehensive project drawings.
  • Transforming new solar sites from initial concepts to operational status.
  • Monitoring project timelines and ensuring adherence to schedules.
  • Reviewing project documentation to confirm compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Addressing engineering challenges and coordinating solutions with project consultants and site managers.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to define and uphold project engineering specifications.
  • Coordinating the activities of engineering contractors and staff to meet project objectives, including recruitment of additional engineers as necessary.
  • Overseeing the in-house electrical engineering team.
  • Maintaining professional communication with management, construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • A strong technical background in engineering drawings and specifications, with the ability to effectively communicate and troubleshoot with contractors.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and project development.
  • Experience in design/build construction methodologies.
  • Solid financial acumen to assess the financial implications of engineering decisions.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
