Position Overview:

Energix North America is in search of experienced Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers.

The Site Manager will operate from our Arlington, Virginia headquarters, with potential travel across Virginia and the mid-Atlantic region. This role is integral to the project management team overseeing utility-scale solar initiatives, involving collaboration with internal teams, contractors, inspectors, consultants, local authorities, and various agencies. The Site Manager will be responsible for managing projects from the permitting stage through to completion and handover to the operations and maintenance team. Key responsibilities include budgeting, contracting, scheduling, and ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials to facilitate effective project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft contractor agreements that align with project specifications, budgetary constraints, and timelines.
  • Oversee project cost management and budgeting to mitigate financial risks.
  • Manage drawing takeoffs, estimations, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Coordinate project activities, including equipment, materials, subcontractors, and vendors, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, both internal and external, to develop and maintain the project timeline.
  • Maintain a professional communication level with subcontractors, vendors, owners, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts related to drawing conflicts and coordination with project consultants and site managers.
  • Assist in the project closeout process, including commissioning, training, warranties, and the preparation of operation and maintenance manuals for the O&M department.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in project management, ideally within utility-scale renewable energy projects on the East Coast. General contractor experience is also considered.


• Strong project and case management skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.


• Comprehensive knowledge of the solar renewable energy construction process.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


• Experience overseeing construction activities, contracts, and financials to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.


• Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or P6 for managing critical path project timelines.


• Skills in project budgeting, RFI, and change order management.


• Proficient in contractor outreach and project estimation.


• Capable of managing project RFIs and reviewing project submittals.


• Ability to deliver organized project updates.


• Coordinate project scheduling, material procurement, inspections, and contractor mobilizations with construction superintendents and site managers.


• Strong technical understanding of drawings and specifications to facilitate effective troubleshooting and communication with contractors and superintendents.
