Position Overview

The main responsibility of this role is to advocate for and sell service agreements related to commercial building systems, which encompass fire alarms, suppression systems, sprinklers, security solutions, sound systems, communication technologies, and inspections. Identify client requirements and devise sales strategies to fulfill those needs. Achieve sales targets to align with the sales plan. Foster a positive and ongoing rapport with clients. Maintain an active backlog of proposals that will aid in reaching sales objectives. Conduct assessments of buildings to facilitate the preparation of estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate contact with potential clients and assess their suitability for service contracts through scheduled sales meetings, lead follow-ups, and the application of established marketing tactics.
  • Identify client needs and formulate a sales approach to enhance their understanding of the company's service offerings.
  • Achieve sales targets in accordance with the sales plan.
  • Maintain an active proposal backlog that supports the achievement of the defined sales objectives.
  • Conduct building assessments to assist in the creation of estimates.
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive records of all sales-related activities.
  • Timely submission of all required sales reports, expense reports, competitive analysis, and correspondence.
  • Develop and sustain a positive ongoing relationship with clients to ensure that Johnson Controls meets their needs, fostering long-term customer loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the service department to generate leads for service or equipment upgrades.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Required:

  • One to three years of sales experience in a relevant field with a demonstrable record of success.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to persuade and close sales effectively.
  • Capability to manage various situations encountered during the sales process.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills; adept at persuading and closing sales while handling diverse situations and maintaining discipline in independent work.

Preferred:

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred.
