Job Summary

RapidFire Safety & Security LLC is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
  • Perform duties in connection with the installation, testing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of fire alarm equipment.
  • Keep proper records of time, material, and operations.
  • Test and maintain all brands of equipment.
  • Strong fundamental troubleshooting skills.
  • Part of the on-call rotation.
  • Installation/construction primarily parts and smarts subcontractor to Electrical contractor.
  • Required to become Notifier certified.
  • Mechanical/smoke control repair/knowledge required for repair and commissioning.
  • Work in a fast-paced pressure-commissioning environment.
  • Communication and working professionally with other trades.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, or fire alarm technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a fire alarm technician or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, components, and wiring techniques, with hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting various types of fire alarm equipment.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm codes and standards, such as NFPA 72, IBC, and ADA requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Relevant certifications, such as NICET, manufacturer-specific training, or state licensure, are desirable but not required.
