Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Specialist will provide support and services to residents in a residential care facility, promoting mental health recovery and independent living skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mental health principles and be able to work collaboratively with residents, staff, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily support and services to residents, including medication management, transportation, and meal preparation.
- Assess and address resident needs, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
- Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Document resident progress and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in house meetings and contribute to a positive and supportive living environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of post-high school education or equivalent experience in the human services field.
- Experience working with SPMI populations and/or dually diagnosed populations preferred.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to develop and maintain rapport with residents, constituents, and staff.
- Basic computer and typing skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
The Behavioral Health Specialist will work in a residential care facility, with regular interactions with residents, staff, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
Physical Requirements:
- Driving (for purposes of transporting residents and community mobility)
- Typing/data entry, writing
- Lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds
- Bending/stooping/climbing (stairs included)/reaching
