Position Title: Internal Auditor/Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) Manager
Reporting To:
- VP/General Manager of the Port of New York and Connecticut.
- None
- Deliver training across various marine subjects and environments.
- Provide expert guidance and conflict resolution regarding marine towing and compliance matters.
- Conduct inspections of the NY and CT fleet, collaborating with vessel crews and local personnel to ensure they possess the necessary skills and resources to meet the company's operational, safety, security, and environmental objectives.
- Facilitate effective communication between boat crews and shore-side staff.
- Perform internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
- Execute drill assessments to evaluate preparedness.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Company's Fleet Management System.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Possession of a current TWIC.
- Valid USCG Licensed Merchant Mariner certification.
- Experience in tugboat operations.
- Certification as an internal auditor.
- Prior experience in auditing and training within a marine context.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and software skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry and regulatory standards governing the operation and maintenance of towing vessels, with the ability to apply this knowledge during inspections.
- Familiarity with ISPS, MTSA, AWO RCP, ISM, and ISO 9000 certification processes.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal.
- Capability to use telephones and standard office equipment.
- Completion of New Hire Familiarization Checklist (MCA-001).
- Administrative Exempt
Annual Salary - $78,000 to $88,500.00
