About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Security to join our team at Homes for the Homeless, Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of safety and security personnel to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with facility administration and central office management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential safety and security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure a collaborative and responsive approach to safety and security.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety and security protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on safety and security incidents and trends to inform decision-making and improve operations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role in safety and security.
  • Valid NYS Security License and current 8-hour annual certificate.
  • Fire Guard (F-02) and Certificate of Fitness (F-80) certifications.
  • Fluency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish, is strongly preferred.

A competitive salary range of $70,000-$80,000, excellent benefits, including comprehensive health insurance, an employer-funded 403(b) retirement plan, commuter benefits, life insurance, and a Work/Life Assistance Program. We also offer 3 weeks paid vacation and ample personal and sick leave.
