Position Overview: This role is essential in assisting the daily functions of the Customer Service team, focusing on driving sales, processing orders, and delivering exceptional service to our clientele. The position involves leveraging and continuously enhancing product knowledge and industry best practices to create tailored solutions that address customer requirements. Building and nurturing relationships with clients and suppliers is a key aspect of this role. Responsibilities include managing projects, processing orders, ensuring timely follow-ups on customer inquiries, coordinating deliveries, handling returns, generating daily reports, and resolving any customer or order-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Duties:

  • Accurately and promptly receive and enter customer orders.
  • Maximize margins and service efficiency through effective logistics strategies.
  • Provide pricing information to customers for existing bill of materials and create new bills from specifications.
  • Oversee project management tasks.
  • Ensure consistent and timely communication regarding customer inquiries and order statuses.
  • Secure vendor pricing, coordinate deliveries, and expedite when necessary.
  • Process returns effectively to enhance value.
  • Continuously develop product knowledge and industry best practices to meet customer needs.
  • Deliver value to customers through effective material sourcing.
  • Foster and enhance relationships with customers and suppliers through regular, meaningful communication.
  • Generate daily reports and address customer and order issues.
  • Assist customers with billing inquiries.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide training support as needed.
  • Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, and technical training sessions as required.
  • Contribute to cost savings documentation relevant to the assigned customer base.
  • Advise sales management on the implementation and effectiveness of marketing strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Preferred two-year business or trade degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in customer service, sales, or related experience.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in electrical distribution.
  • Technical proficiency in understanding electrical systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet applications, and email.
  • Familiarity with SAP software is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong customer service skills characterized by competence, accuracy, responsiveness, and engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
