Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is accountable for the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of manufacturing processes within the PMO.

This role requires the individual to provide technical expertise and guidance across specialized fields, which may encompass Welding, Assembly, or Warehousing. The supervisor will lead a team of approximately five individuals engaged in these tasks.

In this capacity, the supervisor will devise and implement innovative methods and technologies to refine processes and their management, while coordinating the team's responses to organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously enhance all manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing process documentation, including part allocations in SAP.
- Specify all necessary manufacturing process equipment and tools.
- Supervise and mentor Manufacturing Engineering staff in their roles.
- Plan and maintain short, mid, and long-range strategies for manufacturing operations.
- Initiate and manage engineering changes required for operations.
- Make capital and operational purchases as necessary.
- Provide support to manufacturing operations to the best of your ability.
- Communicate technical process information to KA service, distributors, and end-users.

Global Communication
Establish and sustain effective global communication with the Komatsu network by engaging with parent plants in Japan and other international operations.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- A minimum of five years of manufacturing experience is essential, along with a solid grounding in engineering principles.
- Experience with fabrication tooling, welding, assembly, and machining processes is required.

A high level of mechanical knowledge and experience is crucial for designing, improving, and relating to manufacturing processes. The ability to communicate effectively and positively within the Manufacturing Engineering team, the Komatsu leadership team, and corporate customers is essential.

Additionally, the supervisor must work closely to support and educate skilled tradespeople performing the engineered tasks. The ability to articulate the reasons and economic benefits of continuous improvement is also important.

Technical Proficiency
Proficiency in software applications, including 3D CAD (Pro Engineer), SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required. Familiarity with applied engineering standards and practices is necessary.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the associate must possess ordinary ambulatory skills to visit various locations and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity are essential for operating equipment and reading application information.

This role requires physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment with industrial equipment and personnel engaged in diverse assembly tasks, including heavy and hot work (e.g., welding). The position involves walking around equipment and tooling within the manufacturing facility to review assembly and manufacturing processes.
