Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to grow existing accounts.
  • Sales Execution: Meet or exceed gross margin goals through effective negotiation and sales techniques.
  • Customer Service: Deliver superior service to customers through consultative sales, product demonstrations, and solution-based selling.
  • Market Research: Research and develop information on new projects and customer accounts within assigned territory.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate with vendors and coordinate efforts with Supply Chain groups for best product prices.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with Branch/Regional management and National Accounts team to develop strategic territory business plans.
  • Compliance: Ensure contractual compliance and communicate with management and national account teams as needed.
  • Communication: Identify and communicate work in process, threats, opportunities, and related market trends to stakeholders.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and continually improve product knowledge, pricing, and MRC Global systems, procedures, and strategy.
  • Customer Retention: Develop customer retention strategies and consistently illustrate MRC Global's value proposition.
  • Partnership: Drive effective partnership with Branch team and communicate to deepen understanding of customer business processes.
  • Administrative Functions: Perform related administrative functions in accordance with MRC Global procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience: Four or more years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of PVF materials, pricing, supply, and contract terms; competence in computer software applications; ability to communicate and promote ideas to others.
  • Additional Qualifications: Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status; ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
