Store Manager Candidate Job Description

Job Summary:

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in the effective implementation of all store processes, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, and customer service. This role is designed to foster the development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position and is typically held for a limited period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruiting and staffing activities to ensure a well-trained and motivated team.
  • Support store merchandising by facilitating the staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise, ensuring that products are presented in an attractive and organized manner.
  • Assist in inventory management, including the execution of damages, markdowns, and register scanning, to maintain accurate inventory levels and meet sales targets.
  • Provide superior customer service leadership, ensuring that customers receive a positive and personalized shopping experience.
  • Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the job.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and learn cash handling procedures.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out stations, stock merchandise, and unload trucks.
  • Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment.
  • Occasional climbing and driving.
